Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Effective date: 28 October 2026
Website: https://www.heyhasan.me
Operator: Hasan Imam, independent developer

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the free online tools available at heyhasan.me/tools and related tool pages (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service provides

The Service currently includes browser-based utilities such as video compression, image compression and conversion, image background removal, PDF merging/splitting/compression, image-to-PDF conversion, and QR-code generation. The Service is offered free of charge and does not currently require an account or payment to use these tools.

Features may be added, changed, limited, temporarily unavailable, or discontinued. I do not promise that any tool will remain available indefinitely or that every feature will work on every device or browser.

2. How processing works

The tools are designed to process your files and inputs locally in your browser rather than upload them to my application server. Some tools download public code or model assets to your browser so they can run. You are responsible for keeping safe copies of important originals and for checking every output before relying on it.

You should not assume that the Service is a permanent file-storage, backup, archival, or recovery service. It is not. If a tool is changed in a way that sends user content to a server or third-party processing provider, the applicable privacy notice will be updated and any required notices or choices will be provided.

3. Your files and responsibility for them

You retain ownership of the files, images, videos, documents, text, and other content you use with the Service. These Terms do not transfer ownership of that content to me.

You are responsible for ensuring that you own or have permission to use and process the content you select, including photographs of other people, copyrighted material, documents, and network credentials entered into QR codes. You must comply with applicable laws and any rights or restrictions attached to the content.

Because the tools process content locally, I generally do not receive or review that content. You are responsible for deciding whether a file is suitable for processing on your device and for storing the output safely.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

I may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users, or its infrastructure, or to comply with law.

5. Output quality and tool-specific limitations

Results depend on the source file, browser, device, selected settings, and tool implementation. The Service does not guarantee that an output will meet a receiving website's file-size, format, resolution, quality, accessibility, or submission requirements.

In particular:

Always inspect the generated output and confirm that it opens and satisfies your intended use before submitting, printing, publishing, or deleting an original.

6. No professional or official advice

The Service is a set of general-purpose utilities, not legal, medical, financial, tax, security, or other professional advice. Generating or converting a file does not establish that it is accurate, authentic, compliant, or accepted by a government agency, employer, school, bank, platform, or other recipient. Check the requirements of the relevant recipient independently.

7. Intellectual property in the website

Unless stated otherwise, the website's original design, branding, text, and code are owned by me or used with permission. You may use the tools for their intended purpose, but you may not copy or republish substantial portions of the website, branding, or code as your own without permission, except where applicable law permits it or an applicable open-source licence grants those rights.

Third-party libraries and assets may be subject to their own copyright notices and licences. Those licences govern the relevant components and are not replaced by these Terms.

8. Third-party services and links

The website may depend on third-party hosting, content-delivery, security, or software services and may link to external websites. Those services and websites are not controlled by me and may have separate terms, availability, security practices, and privacy policies. A link does not imply endorsement. You use third-party services at your own discretion.

9. Availability and changes

I aim to keep the Service useful and reliable, but I do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, compatibility with every device, or preservation of your current settings or browser state. Maintenance, browser changes, large files, memory limits, device performance, or third-party outages may affect operation.

I may update these Terms as the Service changes. The revised Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update takes effect indicates acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, and non-infringement. I do not warrant that the Service will be secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for your particular needs.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, business, opportunity, reputation, data, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Service.

You are responsible for backing up important originals and verifying outputs. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains how technical information and contact messages are handled and how the current browser-based processing works.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without displacing any mandatory consumer or other protections that apply to you under applicable law. Subject to those protections and any mandatory rules on jurisdiction, disputes will be brought before courts of competent jurisdiction in Chhattisgarh, India.
